If You Suffered an Oral Injury, Then Perhaps a Dental Implant Bridge is Right for You!

May 15, 2017

This is summer and with it comes high energy and going out on the town, and participating in recreational sports. Did you know that if you play contact sports without the protection of a mouth guard you can risk losing multiple teeth in one area?

This happens often to thousands of people each year which is why it is important to seek help and timely care. Our staff here at Pro Dental Dallas cares for your oral health, and we encourage you to seek timely treatment with Dr. Jason Roe should an accident or injury occur.

If you do suffer an accident and the majority of a tooth’s root remains intact, then an endodontic treatment like a root canal might work to save your tooth. In extreme cases, if too much of the root has been damaged, then an extraction might be necessary resulting in the need for a dental implant.

The process begins with a pair of dental implant posts that anchor your bridge placed deep into the gums. This will require full sedation, so you will need to have a friend drive you home after the procedure. The posts placed into your gums are made of titanium, which is biologically safe and fuses beautifully with your natural bone to create very strong anchors. After you are healed the process of installing a dental bridge begins. This includes having a custom-made dental bridge created and placed over your implant. With proper care, this could last for many years to come.
