Grapevine Vintage Railroad

The Grapevine Vintage Railroad is a great family attraction located at 707 S Main St, Grapevine, TX 76051. Visitors can enjoy rides on vintage train coaches that follow the old Cotton Belt Route. Excursions are available year-round. They include a jazz train, Christmas train, and wine train. The Grapevine Vintage Railroad has a history of running in Grapevine since 1888.

The Grapevine Vintage Railroad features restored coaches and two historic locomotives. One of the locomotives, Puffy, is the oldest steam engine in the South. The other locomotive, Vinny, is a 1953 GP-7 diesel. The Grapevine Vintage Railroad also hosts special family events throughout the year, which sell out quickly.

While you’re at the Grapevine Vintage Railroad, you can also enjoy the city’s wine and food scene. The town is home to fantastic wineries. Grapevine’s historic downtown area is dotted with great tasting rooms. Grape Vine Spring Winery has over 25 different wines, and the Night Watchman Ghost Tour takes visitors on a trip through paranormal history.

Grapevine was founded in 1844 and soon became a major stop on the Chisholm Trail, which allowed cowboys to drive their cattle from Texas to Kansas. It’s an Old West town with many historic buildings, and the Grapevine Cotton Belt Railroad Depot is one of the restored buildings from that time. It’s also home to unique shops and art galleries. Visitors can also shop for holiday gifts at the nearby Grapevine Mills.

The Grapevine Historical Society runs the Grapevine Historical Museum, including the Torian Cabin. Inside, you’ll find 1880s period furniture and decor. Visitors can also visit Nash Farm, a 19th century working farmstead. There, you’ll be able to experience pioneer life and meet the chickens!

The Grapevine Mills Mall is another great attraction for children. It is home to several stores, a movie theater, and several restaurants. You can also take the family to Legoland, which features a toy museum and rides based on the popular Lego toy line. Kids can also enjoy Peppa Pig World of Play, an indoor play center based on the popular children’s TV show.

While you’re there, don’t forget to take the trolley. The 4.6-mile route is served by seven vintage trolley cars. You can also ride the M-Line Trolley, a free service, by dropping some cash in the fare box before getting on board. There are 39 stops along the way and the ride lasts about an hour.
