Insurance
We are often asked if we take a patient’s dental insurance. The short answer is, yes. While we do work with all dental insurance companies, we are an out-of-network provider. What does this mean for you? It means that we do not have any contractual obligations to the insurance regarding the quality of care that we can provide you. Any agreements that dictate coverage are based on agreements between the patient and their insurance or the patient’s employer (if provided by their employer) and their insurance. Out-of-network providers can still bill a patient’s dental insurance for the treatment but the reimbursement rates will be different. This may be perceived as a negative characteristic, but it can also be a positive. Since the dentist does not have a contractual agreement with the insurance company, the dentist is allowed to treatment plan for the patient’s best needs and desires. Sometimes an insurance company will downgrade a procedure. We cannot allow their limitations to prevent us from properly administering necessary and quality treatment. Our out-of-network designator allows us to provide only the best care for you and your mouth!
We are happy to file your insurance for your reimbursement. However, we ask that patients understand that due to the way insurance plans are structured, there will be limitations as to how much of our work is covered under their plan.
As a courtesy, we will file claims to your dental insurance for you. Remember that your insurance policy is an agreement between you and your insurance company, so you are therefore responsible for payment of your treatment.
Payment in full is appreciated at the time of your appointment, and you may expect reimbursement per your individual plan’s coverage allowances to be sent directly to you. If you would like for us to file your insurance, please provide us with all insurance information prior to your appointment. We don’t want you to feel confused or frustrated at the time of your appointment, so please ask all dental insurance questions; understand your coverage and financial responsibility prior to your appointment. Our staff is willing to answer your questions and work with your insurance to maximize your benefit.
