Dr. Browning’s professional motto is “Modern Dentistry. Traditional Values.” He employs the latest technologies available in modern dentistry while being guided by traditional values, principles, and ethics.
Dr. Browning is our Digital Dentist. When he joined Pro Dental Dallas in 2021, he brought unique technological knowledge and capabilities to our practice. He has expanded our offerings with new digital CAD/CAM software and 3D printing. We are now able to design and fabricate in-house 3D-printed surgical guides for fully-guided implant placement. This not only reduces the time necessary to complete implant procedures in the clinic but also increases patient safety and improves prosthetic treatment outcomes. Dr. Browning can digitally plan and fabricate crowns, bridges, dentures, and implant-supported prosthetics (hybrids, All-on-4, All-on-X).
Dr. Browning graduated from Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. At graduation, he received recognition for excellence in removable prosthodontics with the Horace P. Beachum Denture Prosthesis Award. After dental school, Dr. Browning completed a three-year residency in prosthodontics. While he was at it, he also earned a Master of Science in Oral Biology. Dr. Browning’s research thesis involved evaluating the dimensional stability of 3D-printed tooth-supported implant surgical guides after autoclave sterilization. Subsequently, he taught as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Graduate Prosthodontics residency program at his alma mater, Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry. Prosthodontists are recognized by the ADA as the specialists in restorative dentistry. They are trained to diagnose and treat complex dental needs and are best suited to restore a patient’s smile and function.
Dr. Browning consistently doubles the amount of continuing education required each year. He is a member of the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP), the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics (AAFP), the American Dental Association (ADA), the Texas Dental Association (TDA), and the North Texas Dental Society (NTDS).
“I believe it is an exciting time to be a dental professional! Advances in materials and technologies empower dentists like never before. Patients with complex needs have more treatment options than ever before, and I believe no other specialty can utilize these opportunities better than Prosthodontics!”
Dr. James Browning
Dr. Browning has genuine compassion for patients and their needs. His gentle nature and sense of humor help put anxious patients at ease. He earnestly believes in the five fundamental principles of ethics from the ADA Code: patient autonomy, nonmaleficence, beneficence, justice, and veracity. Dr. Browning believes it is important that patients understand their needs, recommended treatment, and associated costs before any treatment is performed.
Dr. Browning believes every individual deserves to be treated with respect and dignity, no matter their condition. He doesn’t use guilt or fear tactics to pressure patients into making decisions. He insists patients always have the right to refuse or delay treatment or seek second opinions. Dr. Browning aims to give patients realistic expectations regarding the duration, difficulty, and goals of treatment. And finally, he strives to deliver high-quality care in a timely manner.
New patient exams are two-hour appointments and are comprehensive. A full series of radiographs (x-rays) is necessary to complete a comprehensive exam. Your exam will be concluded with diagnoses, options for treatment, and estimated costs. Additional diagnostic records may be needed before a treatment plan can be finalized. Such records may include a diagnostic wax-up, cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT), photos, impressions, or consultations with other specialists.
If you do not want to start with a comprehensive exam, you can request a free consultation. Consultations are 15-minute appointments and do not include an exam. Consultations are intended for you to meet the doctor and ask preliminary questions. No diagnoses can be made and no treatment can be performed or planned during consultations. Exams with radiographs (x-rays) are necessary to properly diagnose conditions and plan treatment.
