A traditional denture rests directly on your gums while an overdenture snaps into a dental implant or rests on existing teeth. For many patients, overdentures offer a more durable and comfortable option because they do not move while they eat or talk.
Who Is A Good Candidate For Overdentures?
Overdentures are a good choice for patients that are missing most or all of their teeth. However, there are a few screens to go through before being approved for this kind of implant. If there are only a few teeth left, our staff will make sure of their health or extract them.
Another important part of determining if a patient is a good candidate is for our dentists to determine if they have enough bone to support the implant. If not, we will determine if a bone graft can be done to provide enough support for implants to be placed in your mouth.
