Overdentures in Garland, TX
Our teeth are very important to our overall health. However, overtime our teeth can fall out due to poor genetics, medical conditions or even traumatic accidents. Overdentures provide a way to replace your teeth in a way that looks natural. Our office, located in Garland, Texas will be happy to help you get your smile back to where you want it to be.
YOUR SMILE IS OUR PRIORITY
We understand that it can be devastating to suffer from tooth loss. Not only does it affect your health, but can affect your self confidence. Dentures can require a lot of care, maintenance and additional products to purchase. With overdentures, you can say goodbye to glues and other adhesives for your dentures! There are two kinds of overdentures, tooth-retained and implanted. Both are removable and can be taken out to clean (or sleep) at your convenience. Our team will meet with you to determine the best course of action for you and your smile.
ANSWERING QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE
What is the difference between dentures and overdentures?
Dentures are often held in place with adhesives, natural suction or both. However with overdentures, they are screwed in and out of the jaw bone, often using titanium screws. While both are completely removable, the options offer a more permanent and simpler solution to tooth loss.
When Would A Patient Be A Good Candidate for Overdentures?
A patient who is missing all or most of their teeth is a prime candidate. Consult with our team of dentists to find out which option will be best for you. During our consultation, we will discuss your options and examine your existing teeth to figure out which overdenture, implanted or tooth-retained, will best fit you.
OUR GARLAND TEAM CAN’T WAIT TO MEET YOU!
Our team is dedicated to your care, we want to discuss what options are best for you. The tooth-retained design allows us to build a set of dentures around your remaining teeth, preserving your existing smile. We want to help you save what teeth we can through root canals and continual care. Keep in mind that this is not always possible, the teeth aren’t always salvageable and may lead to removal. Our implanted design, however, requires all teeth to be removed and screws implanted into the jaw, allowing the denture to be removed as necessary. While both options are viable, we have to meet each patient individually to figure out which option best fits your needs.
